Snapshot of the Industry, Cross-Over Processes with Digital Inkjet and Uncoated Paper Introduction

- Bring a piece of artwork for group discussion that combines cross-over methods of working in photography i.e. combining digital, traditional silver, traditional historical and/or fine art materials.
The status of the Industry will be the focus of this workshop with an interactive discussion on the present state of analog and digital products with an emphasis on cross-over methods of photography. Group discussions of cross-over methods of working in photography and how digital photography has liberated traditional photography in terms of the thinking of what a photograph could be rather than what it should be.
Introduction to Fine Art Inkjet Papers (Canson, Hahnemuhle, Harman by Hahnemuhle, Museo, Arista II)
Introduction to Uncoated Fine Art Papers (Canson)
Eric Joseph will also present some of his own work exploring cross over methods of working as well as sample images on the above mentioned brands of inkjet paper and uncoated papers.
I graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelors Degree in Art specializing in photography in 1985. My primary mentoring instructor was Jerry McMillan.
I have been an employee at Freestyle Photographic Supplies since June of 1986 and have had just about every job in the company over the past 25 years.
The last 11 years I have served Freestyle in the capacity of Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Product Development. My duties include overall responsibility of our purchasing and buying department, developing new products, keeping as many of the legacy analog products alive as possible and interfacing with every coating facility, chemical manufacturer and manufacturer of products in the photographic industry, worldwide.
