Society for Photographic Education

• The critique session held on Saturday, Nov. 19th – 12Noon-1:30pm will give a select group of graduate students the opportunity to display their work and be critiqued by a larger audience of graduate and undergraduate students attending the conference. The critique will provide these students a chance to meet each others and exchange ideas about their work and graduate programs. Other students are welcome to attend the critique, including BA and BFA students who may be considering graduate schools in the region.

To be involved:

1. GRADUATE STUDENTS: If you would like to be considered for this opportunity to have your work critiqued at the conference and are a currently enrolled graduate student who is attending the conference, you will Sign-Up for the Grad Critique online when you register for the SPE WEST Conference.  Valerie Mendoza - valerie.mendoza@sjsu.edu will be in charge of the Grad Critique. (Put SPE WEST GRAD Critique in Subject Field if you have a question about the Critique). Gordon Hammer will also be moderating one group of Grad Student Crits.
   
2. You will bring one-five images from a series or set to be critiqued.
3. UNDERGRADUATES & INTERESTED ATTENDEES OF CRITIQUE: If you would like to attend (but not have your work critiqued), please email valerie.mendoza@sjsu.edu

Additional Details:
To maintain the quality of the critique, all participants need to attend the entire session. Space is limited. Efforts will be made to represent a variety of programs in the region and to honor faculty /program recommendations. A wait list will be established for additional students who sign-up on the website when registering for the conference. The critique is currently scheduled for 12:00-1:30pm on Saturday, November 19. There will be a food truck for lunch located outside of the allocated Grad Critique space at Cabrillo but you may want to bring a lunch.
